5 Date Ideas to Break the Ice, Not the Bank
Going on a first date with someone you have never met before can be extremely nerve-wracking. The thought of you having to “WOW” them can also be very stressful. There are so many different things that go into making a first date successful and one to remember. Luckily for you, we have highlighted five great date ideas to help you break the ice on your first date, while keeping an eye on your bank account.
1. Go for a Walk
Taking a stroll outdoors through the park or downtown can be so peaceful. A walk allows you and your partner to open up to one another while being yourselves. Meeting your date for the first time in a public place also provides them with a feeling of safety, knowing that other people are around and witnessing. Also, this is something that is completely free to do and just requires time and effort.
There is not much more that we could think of that allows you to cut loose in front of your partner. Karaoke is a perfect idea for a first date ice breaker! Karaoke is super fun for people of all ages and most of the time it’s free, making it that much better of an idea.
3. Visit your local museum
Spending a day looking at fine art and history with your partner is also never a bad idea. Many local museums require a small entry fee, but some of the art you will experience could be breathtaking. You will also be given the chance to chat about multiple different ice-breaker topics throughout the day.
4. Make a meal together
Cooking is a great bonding experience for people all around the world. This can be a great way to spend quality time together and allows you and your partner to connect with each other on a more personal level. Try to figure out what meal you both really enjoy and try to cook it together. Cooking is a fairly inexpensive activity that has tons and tons of potential to break the ice.
5. Picnic in the Park
Enjoying a well-planned picnic in the park can be a huge success for the first day if you are trying not to break the bank. Just like the other ideas previously mentioned, a picnic is a wonderful way to bond on a first date. It can be very relaxing and allow you both to connect on a much more personal level and slow things down.
